Spud and I enjoyed our time away and I hope to get some pictures up soon of our camping trip. However, we've both got more pressing concerns on our agenda at the moment because we've both got job interviews coming up this week. I am so excited I could turn a cartwheel, but I am also slightly nervous as I have never attended a formal job interview before. When I attended my first job 'interview' I was seventeen and the manager took me out for coffee across the road from his business and an informal chat. The interview for my second job was a tour of the premises and an opportunity to meet some of the students I would be working with, followed by an informal conversation with the care manager on duty. On neither occasion was there any doubt about my having secured the position. This next interview is going to be somewhat different.
So in the mean time I'll be preparing for this interview by ensuring my braille skills are up to date. My father's brought a brailler home from work for me to practice on. The post is as a specialist support assistant, working with visually impaired students. It would be an excellent opportunity to progress from my previous position, and further the skills I have already acquired. The interview is just the encouragement I need, having applied for eleven jobs with no success.
Spud and I will also be travelling back to his tomorrow, so I am going to be busy today packing up my belongings and ensuring I leave everything in order. It's looking to be quite a busy day!
